‘미쳤어, 미쳤어. 친구랑 자 버렸어.’ 남사친인 그와 말도 안 되는 아주 굉장한 일이 벌어졌다. ‘앞으로 그 녀석 얼굴을 어떻게 보지?’ 원래 사내란 유혹에 취약하다고 들었다. 그런데다 술까지 마셨는데 여자가 무작정 덮쳤으니. 일단 녀석을 피하자 싶어 새벽 일찍 학원을 왔건만, 여자 화장실 앞에서 기다릴 줄이야. “없던 일로 하자.” 공희는 장고 끝에 지금 취준생인 자신의 처지로, 그리고 두 사람의 여건상 이것이 가장 합당할 것이란 생각이 들어 그리 선언했다. “싫어.” 하지만 그런 긴 고민이 무색할 정도로 세주는 단칼에 거절했다. “너, 나 책임져. 덮쳤으니 나 책임지라고.” “뭐?” “덮쳤잖아, 책임져. 책임지라고 덮쳤으면.” 그의 목소리가 점점 더 커지자, 공희는 화들짝 놀라 그의 입을 막았다. “알았다고, 알았으니까 좀 조용히 해. 책임진다고! 그러니까.” 공희는 벌컥 소리를 지르다가 간신히 억눌렀다. 그러고는 그에게 이를 갈 듯 속삭였다. “그놈의 덮쳤다는 소리 좀 그만할 수 없어?”
