八○年代十二大願──一願取消籍貫，二願吃飯分飯，三願直呼名字，四願聯考改變，五願不再託人帶東西，六願自己爭氣、莫一味把別人怨，七願眼科醫生使用特製水龍頭紙巾，八願斑馬線安如泰山，九願中國成為真正的禮儀之邦，十願大家都祛除虛驕、不再裝?I裝蒜，十一願弄清權利義務、認真做事，十二願孫淡寧女士的幼稚園，早日開辦，從立論而補充，由身旁事物說起再申以理論，十二願或大或小，但皆反應了柏楊對當時台灣社會的一些深思和反省。
揭發黑幕一樁，講的是國術館詐財騙人手段，柏楊為文揭發後，有抗議，更有精采的「窩裡鬥」發展。
