Not quite as good as Virtual Light... However, the perspective of a data investigator, the new Idoru itself, and the proximity to the mysterious bio-nanotechnology of a Tokyo rebuilding itself made this another intriguing read. Still just as fraught, with all the interesting tech. I enjoyed the characters - especially Laney, Blackwell, Yamazaki, and what we heard of old Rydell - but the way the two groups fit together did not feel quite as natural as in Virtual Light. Still an exciting adventure!
