incredibly more deep in lore than the movie! this is the marriage between helldivers and space marines... but too much technicality, really I didn't care about the military organization, I just wanted more chapter ones!

While it doesn't do combat like Clancy, the world building is all there. It has some questionable political and sociological view points for sure, but is fascinating none the less and builds a great sci fi universe. However it might be one of the few stories where I prefer the film over the book, despite the lack of powered armour in the former. I would recommend to any fan of military fiction, but the in depth descriptions of military organisations might be a bit too dull for general sci fi fans.

Unlike the movie that glorifies war and modern theme of a unisex infantry this gives insight into common views of how the old boys saw brotherhood in infantry and their view of other services. They maybe running around in full mech armour deployed from spaceships but its views on mateship and political values is brilliant to read. If u haven't read this yet its a must.
