关于此电子书

Phantasmagoria and Other Poems by Lewis Carroll is a collection of whimsical and imaginative poetry published in 1869, during the Victorian era. The book blends humor, fantasy, and wordplay, reflecting Carroll’s signature style of nonsensical yet thought-provoking verse. The title poem, Phantasmagoria, is a narrative piece divided into cantos, recounting a humorous conversation between a speaker and a ghost who explains the “Five Good Rules of Etiquette” for spectral behavior. The ghost’s mischievous yet polite demeanor adds a comedic twist to the supernatural encounter. Other notable poems in the collection, such as Echoes, A Sea Dirge, and Hiawatha’s Photographing, further demonstrate Carroll’s lyrical creativity, using clever rhymes, playful rhythms, and satirical elements. The collection as a whole celebrates imagination, inviting readers to enjoy the absurdity, wit, and joy of poetic expression.
