Als er ein paar Tage später auch noch eine weibliche Hand in einem der Fenster sieht, beginnt er fasziniert das Haus zu betrachten und versucht mehr über das "öde Haus" herauszufinden. About the author
E. T. A. Hoffmann (1776-1822) war nicht nur ein deutscher Schriftsteller der Romantik, sondern auch Jurist, Zeichner, Komponist und Kapellmeister. Schon zu Lebzeiten gehörte er zu den beliebtesten und meistgelesenen deutschen Schriftstellern. Besonders bekannt ist er für die Novelle "Der Sandmann" (1816) sowie für den Roman "Die Elixiere des Teufels" (1815/1816).
