About this ebook

A storm can cover her tracks…or lead the wolves straight to her door.

With the help of his witch clan, Jake Wilcox is looking forward to a happy future with Addie Grant, the woman he’s falling for. There’s just one thing missing: Addie. Sometime in the night, she up and left. He can guess why — she’d sacrifice almost anything to avoid causing her newfound family any trouble. But the big question is, where did she go?

Addie dutifully went along with the Wilcox clan’s plan to protect her from Randall Lenz, the government operative bent on harnessing her weather magic for not-so-noble purposes. But in the back of her mind, a voice insists that as long as she stays in Arizona, the greater the danger to Jake and the Wilcox witch clan.

Heart breaking, Addie listens to her inner nomad and goes where the wind takes her — a place where no government, no witch, not even Jake can find her. But there are two factors working against her desire to remain hidden: her love for Jake…and the magic that, when danger flares like a wildfire, she has no choice but to unleash.

Never a disappointment with Christine Pope's books. Thunder Road is the second book in "The Witches of Wheeler Park" series, this books picks up at the end of the first book. Addie is hiding for her life, while Jake is doing everything to forget about his encounter with Addie. The story is one that just kicks you in the feels as you read about Addie and Jake's separation. The writing is great and characters get more development as the story moves. It's a great follow up to the first book. I did receive an ARC, but this does not affect my thoughts or opinions.

Thunder Road is the continuation of Jake Wilcox and Addie Grant’s story. Thunder Road is the second book in The Witches of Wheeler Park series which is a spinoff of the Witches of Cleopatra Hill series. The Witches of Wheeler Park series should be read in order….warning there are cliffhangers. I really enjoyed how Addie grows into her witch powers and takes responsibility for keeping people around her safe even at great cost to herself and a possible future with Jake. Jake is a great hero and his willingness to give up everything familiar to be with Addie is heartwarming. Ms. Pope does a great job with the evil government agent villain too….I just wanted to throat punch him multiple times, talk about abuse of power. This was a great addition to Pope’s library and I look forward to the next book in the series which is due out in July…good thing too since this one ends in an abrupt cliffhanger. I was given the opportunity to read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Oh, boy! Christine Pope has done it again with Thunder Road the second book in The Witches of Wheeler Park series. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Note: this review contains spoilers! Addie Wilcox has run away from Jake, her one true love, to keep him and the rest of his family safe. Her fear of Agent Lentz is stronger than her faith in the witches and warlocks. And I don’t blame her. I think I would have run too! Jake, on the other hand, is not a happy camper. Addie didn’t leave any note or indication of why or where she went. And he’s pretty sure she is his soul mate, so I can understand him being upset too. Addie thinks she is safe on the Indian Reservation working at the casino surrounded by the magic of the Indian community. Jake thinks that she would be safer surrounded by witches and warlocks. Turns out neither of them was right! Because Agent Lentz isn’t what he thinks he is. All of his “test” subjects are orphans with no idea of their birth family. Just because Agent Lentz fits that same category doesn’t mean he has special powers. Does it? Just because he has very reliable hunches and the mind wipe doesn’t seem to have worked as well as they thought. That doesn’t mean . . . No. It can’t. Can it? And that’s only part of it! In between descriptions of the beautiful countryside, and filling out the profiles of her fascinating characters, the author sets us on a wild ride. First running with Addie from Jake, then with Jake running to try and find Addie, and finally Lentz’s trying to find them both. It’s a great story full of romance, commitment, and adventure. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
