本书选定21世纪以来部分中国主流电影进行梳理与分类，并将部分具有代表性的中国主流电影文本作为考察对象，分析电影不同的叙事形态与中国文化记忆、国家形象之间的互文关系。本书以部分中国主流电影文本的考察研究为起点，描述、分析主流电影在国家叙事形态中的生成轨迹与特质，探讨其构建主流意识形态的心理根基。在此基础上本书进一步探讨全球化背景下，如何通过中国主流电影的国家叙事来完成价值观的构建与传播，并使其参与中国当代文化重构，以期寻找推动中国与世界进行互动与交流的叙事策略。
