About the author
이원호 전주에서 출생하였으며 전주고등학교와 전북대학교를 졸업했다. (주)백양에서 중동과 아프리카 지역의 무역담당 부장을 역임했으며, 그후 (주)경세무역을 설립해 직접 경영했다. 1991년부터 소설을 발표하기 시작해『밤의 대통령』『황제의 꿈』으로 연속 밀리언셀러를 기록, 단숨에 대중소설 최고의 작가로 부상하였으며 현재까지 발표하는 작품마다 독자들의 열렬한 호응을 얻고 있다. 속도감 있는 문체와 과감한 생략, 예측을 불허하는 스토리 전개를 특징으로 하는 그의 소설은 800만 부 이상의 판매부수를 자랑한다. 현재 《문화일보》《월간조선》《스포츠조선》등에 소설을 연재중이며 지금까지 20종 80권 이상의 작품을 출간했다. 주요 작품으로 『밤의 대통령』『황제의 꿈』『영웅의 도시』『대한국인』『오피스텔』『유라시아의 꿈』『도시의 남자』등이 있다.
