끝났단다 전쟁이. 그것도 종전이 아니고 휴전으로. 윗대가리들은 도대체 무슨 생각인거야? 죄다 머리통이 맛이 간 건가? 지금 끝을 봐야지 무슨 정신머리로 이딴 결정을 내리는 건데? 어이, 거리에서 춤추고 환호하고 꽃가루 뿌리지마라! 종전이 아니라 휴전이라고! 이런 식으로 끝날 거였다면 바로 어제 죽은 사람들은, 전쟁에서 죽어간 누군가의 아버지와 아들 형제들은, 내 동료들은, 도대체 뭐가 되는 거냐? “…이 짓거리가 끝나면 다같이 낙향해서 농사나 짓자고 했던가?” 나쁘지 않다. 아니 꽤나 괜찮다. 앞 일 따위 이제 나는 모른다. 저지른 놈들이 책임지겠지. 난 낙향한다 남은 일은 정치인이든 영웅이든 알아서 해라. 난 할 만큼 했어.
