이 동시집은 사랑하는 딸 예소가 자라나는 모습을 한 눈에 들여다 볼 수 있는 성장 책이라고 일컬었으면 좋겠습니다. 이번 동시집은 특별히 아내가 동시 내용에 걸맞은 그림을 가장 기본적인 도구로 아주 소박하게 그려줬습니다. 이 한 권의 책은 우리 가족 모두가 한 마음으로 빚어낸 결과물이라 할 수 있겠습니다. 딸은 말하고 아빠는 그것을 시로 노래했으며, 엄마는 그 말과 노래를 한 폭의 그림으로 그려낸 것이지요. 글도 그림도 뛰어난 솜씨는 아니지만, 아이에게 추억을 선물하고, 내게 있는 사랑을 전해주고 싶었습니다.
