About the author
에드거 앨런 포 (Edgar Allan Poe, 1809~1849) 미국 보스턴 출생의 시인, 소설가, 비평가. 19세기 최대의 독창가(獨創家) 중 한 명으로 꼽히며, 단편 등과 책 ≪괴기 단편집≫(2권) ≪단편집≫ 등을 남겼다. 1847년 가난 속에서 아내와 사별한 후 스스로도 건강을 돌보지 않아 2년이 지난 1849년 10월, 볼티모어의 노상에 쓰러져 눈을 감았다. 김지영 대학에서 영문학을 전공했으며, 광고 기획 일과 더불어 번역 작업을 하고 있다.
