• 야나기타 쿠니오(柳田國男)(1875~1962) 일본 민속학의 창시자, 농업학자, 시인 도쿄제대 법과대학 졸업 후 농상공부 입사. 법제국 참사관, 귀족원 서기관장, 아사히신문사 논설 담당 민속학 연구에 전념 일본 민속학의 효시인 『토노 이야기(遠野物語)』 저술 『민간전승론(民間傳承論)』(1934) 등 정리, 전후에도 민속학 연구에 노력 1951년 문화훈장 수상 다수 저서를 포함한 방대한 업적은 『정본 야나기다 쿠니오집(定本柳田國男集)』에 수록되어 있다. 저서 『野辺のゆきゝ』, 『定本柳田國男集』(전31권・별권5 筑摩書房), 문고판 『柳田國男全集」 등
