*스탠리 G. 와인바움(Stanley G. Weinbaum)(1902~1935) 미국의 저명한 공상과학 소설 작가 여러 단편 소설과 소설을 썼으며 대부분 작품은 「Wonder Stories」와 같은 잡지에 실렸다. 주목할 만한 것은 『적응하는 궁극체(The Adaptive Ultimate)』와 『이상(The Ideal)』이 있다. 2008년에는 코드웨이너 스미스 재발견 상(Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award)을 받았다. 작품은 상상력이 풍부한 외계 세계와 캐릭터의 깊이로 찬사를 받았다. 아이작 아시모프와 H. P. 러브크래프트와 같은 공상과학 소설의 저명한 인물들이 그의 기여를 인정했으며, “러브크래프트는 와인바움의 글이 동시대 작가 중에서 두드러진다”라고 언급했다.
