몽월 벌교에서 태어나 줄곧 남도 지역을 벗어나지 못하고 성장. 1985년 친구 따라 서울 입성. 1990년 월남전을 다룬 〈적도전선〉으로 만화 시나리오 입문. 이후 〈왕과 인간〉, 〈아침 한때 비〉, 〈개인택시〉 등 다수의 현대물 창작. 1996년 〈대자객〉이란 무협 만화로 전향하여 이십여 작품을 씀. 2005년 문피아에 〈생사신〉 연재하여 오늘에 도착. 일언(一言) : 이래저래 뜨거운 유월.
