About the author
*루이자 메이 알코트(Louisa May Alcott):(1832~1888) 미국의 소설가, 간호사, 시인, 아동 문학가, 교사 노예 제도 폐지 운동가이자 여성주의자였으며, 생계를 위해 다양한 직업을 전전했다. 남북전쟁 시기에 간호병으로 자원하여 활동했으며, 이 경험을 바탕으로 『병원 스케치(Hospital Sketches, 1863)』를 발표해 주목받았다.
