2016년 《현대시학》 신인상을 받으며 작품 활동을 시작한 시인 김유림의 첫 시집이 민음의 시 263번으로 출간되었다. 김유림 시인의 첫 시집 『양방향』은 끊임없는 내레이션으로 이루어진 영화, 혹은 꿈속의 일과 현실의 일을 이어 쓴 일기 같다. 시편마다 회상과 상상, 장면과 독백이 풍성하게 담겨 있어 홍학으로 크로켓 경기를 하고 식빵 나비가 날아다니고 카드 병정이 걸어 다니는 소설 『이상한 나라의 앨리스』를 연상케 하기도 한다. 김유림이 만든 시의 나라에서는 생각이 장면을 뜨개질하고, 문장은 경쾌한 발걸음으로 산책을 다닌다. 그런 나라에서 ‘사과’나 ‘흰 접시’ 같은 단어들은 전에 없이 낯설게 느껴진다. 걷는 길과 머무는 시간은 한 방향이 아닌 양방향으로 흐른다. 과거와 미래, 왼쪽과 오른쪽, 안과 밖, 나에게 그리고 당신에게. 산책로가 미로가 되고 생각이 나라가 되는 곳. 시집 『양방향』은 그곳으로 독자를 초대하는 편지다. 이제, 우리 모두 수신인이 될 차례다.
