‘이 책은 김구가 상해와 중경에 있을 때 써놓은 「백범일지(白凡逸志)」 를 국문으로 번역한 것이다. 상해에서 대한민국 임시정부의 주석으로 당시 본국에 있던 어린 두 아들에게 내가 겪은 일을 알리자는 동기에서였다.’중략, 본문 중에서 1947년 「국사원(國士院)」 판본을 토대로 하여 표기된 원문 그대로 한자와 한글을 모두 병용 표기하였다. 본문은 되도록 현재 맞춤법에 따랐다.
About the author
*김구(金九)(1876~1949) 아명 김창수(金昌洙), 호 백범(白凡)정치인이며 독립운동가황해도 해주백운방 출생동학 농민 운동에 참가하였고 3·1운동 후 상하이로 망명, 대한민국임시정부를 조직하여 요직에 취임하였다. 신민회 활동과 결사단체인 한인애국단을 조직하여 윤봉길 등 의거를 지휘하였고, 한국광복군 총사령부를 창설하였으며 1944년 대한민국임시정부 주석에 선임하였다.
