本書《臺灣建築史之研究：他者與臺灣》為「空間留聲機」系列的第一本書。作者黃蘭翔教授從比較性觀點切入臺灣建築的脈絡表現，探討自日治至戰後時期，異文化匯集在這塊土地的多重交會與拉鋸，進而以具反省力的學術論述，鋪陳出有助於更深度認識臺灣建築身分的未來。
