中國作家協會會員，出版有《活潑可愛的快樂豬》等60多本書。獲冰心兒童圖書獎、冰心兒童文學新作獎、金駱駝獎、金江寓言文學獎大獎等獎項。6篇作品入選中國大陸多種版本小學《語文》課本。《雞媽媽的新房子》被翻譯成中國大陸18種少數民族文字，入選中國大陸18本漢文、中國大陸少數民族文對照版《語文》課本。該文還被選入韓國學生教材，並被評為「中國當代寓言名篇」。《架橋》入選香港版語文教材和澳門版語文教材。新加坡出版的4本寓言集，被新加坡教育部列入華文推薦書目。寓言集《小山羊和小灰兔》被評為「中國當代寓言名著」。榮獲「中國當代寓言家」稱號。
