嘉義縣新港鄉人，創作以少兒小說為主，曾獲青溪文藝金環獎、觀光文學獎、柔蘭兒童文學獎、台灣省政府兒童文學創作獎、九歌現代兒童文學獎行政院文建會特別獎、小太陽獎、陳國政兒童文學獎等二十多個文學獎項。其著作《媽祖回娘家》叫好又叫座，為國小四年級鄉土教學的指定延伸閱讀，另有《姑姑家的夏令營》、《第一百面金牌》、《又見寒煙壺》等書，也深受歡迎。公認是新生代少兒小說代表性作家。
