「創刊號」，顧名思義是指一本刊物創辦印行的第一期。作為刊物的原型，創刊號未必盡如人意，但刊物其後的發展改變，都須與它對照，才能見出真貌。因此，創刊號對了解一本刊物的歷史發展，實在起?莫大的作用。 《創刊號（1940’s-1980’s）》是香港第一部專論創刊號的著作，二○一二年由明報周刊出版，書中介紹的創刊號，時期橫跨上世紀四十至八十年代，類型以影視、娛樂、社會文化為主。是次在前作基礎上重新編訂，新增十七篇文章及大量圖片，並改寫與增補原有內容。作者添補不少對文學界影響深遠的雜誌，如《香港文學》、《純文學》、《素葉文學》等，亦加入《風流》、《漫畫世界》、《武俠世界》、《廣角鏡》、《清秀》、《美術家》等或雅或俗的刊物，務求呈現舊日香港書刊百花齊放的面貌。作者除了對它們的歷史及發展作精到的介紹，亦講述發現與收藏這些刊物的經歷和感受。透過本書，讀者可更了解昔日香港書刊的歷史、當時的社會狀況及人事變遷。
About the author
連民安，業餘香港電影及粵劇研究者，自幼喜愛蒐集各類報刊資料，及長發展成為興趣，當中以香港報紙及電影文藝刊物收藏較多。著有《中外電影漫談》（二○○一年）、《擷彩繁英——粵劇名伶絕技》（二○○六年）、《創刊號（1940’s-1980’s）》（二○一二年）及香港早期報刊專題文章多篇。現職教師。
