著有：《台灣的王爺與媽祖》（1989）、《台灣的祠祀與宗教》（1989）、《北港朝天宮志》（1989）、《臺灣社會文化史》（1998）、《王得祿傳》（與王文裕合著）（1998）、《臺灣民間信仰》（2001）、《現代化與近代中國的變遷》（與林滿紅等合著）（1997）、《臺灣歷史人物與事件》（與曹永和等合著）（2002），以及論文數十篇。
