About the author
約翰娜．斯佩麗1827年出生於瑞士蘇黎世，父親是醫生，母親是詩人，斯佩麗自小接受良好家庭教育。成年後，斯佩麗與一位律師結婚，定居於蘇黎世。這個以湖光山色聞名於世的城市，秀麗的景色孕育了斯佩麗的童心，為她的兒童文學創作打下基礎。 1881年斯佩麗出版「海蒂」。這原是一部十六卷的故事集，「海蒂」是其中一個可以獨立成篇的故事。這十六卷故事原以德文寫成，出版後轉譯為多種文字，在世界各地發行，成為青少年讀者的恩物，斯佩麗因而一舉成名了。 斯佩麗備受瑞士人的欽敬，她的肖相被印在1951年發行的郵票上，以及鑄在2009年發行的20瑞士法郎紀念幣上。
