畢業於北京大學中文系。曾任中國文聯世界華文文學雜誌社社長兼執行主編文聯出版社編審，中國作家協會台港澳暨海外華文文學聯絡委員會委員等職。現為中國作家協會會員, 中國世界華文文學學會副監事長，香港《文綜》雜誌副總編輯，香港世界華文文學聯會、香港世界華文旅遊文學聯會理事，以及多個海外華文文學社團顧問等。出版評傳：《白薇評傳》、《十位女作家》、《自我完成自我挑戰——施叔青評傳》、《以筆為劍書青史》等，散文小說集《熱情的大麗花》，文集《回眸——我與世界華文文學的緣分》等著作。合著《中國現代女作家》、《尋美的旅人》等，主編《世界華文文學精品庫》、《海外華文女作家新潮散文》、《海外女作家成名作賞析》、《海外華文作家文叢》及《海海人生——海外華文女作家散文選》等書。曾主持評選世界華文文學「徐霞客遊記散文獎」（九十年代初）、「盤房杯世界華文優秀小說獎（九十年代後期）」及同名「散文獎」（二十一世紀初）等。
