本書《蕭繼宗先生研究》分五冊，第一冊生平交遊篇，第二冊古典詩篇，第三冊詞與詞學篇，第四冊藝術文化篇，第五冊幹侯墨緣集，約百萬字，費時十三年。 第一冊生平交遊篇。湖南湘鄉，從清代曾國藩以來人才輩出。清末政治腐敗，內憂外患，兵連禍結，社會動盪，百姓流離。臺灣光復不久，兩岸分治。蕭先生湘鄉人，自幼為神童，及長，入南京中央政治學校，因時代環境，投身軍旅，奉獻黨國。後任教於東海、臺大、政大等名校，也到韓國、日本、美國等大學講學，桃李滿天下。因黨國徵召，任黨史會主委、副秘書長等要職，襄助蔣經國總統。他精通中英文，詩、詞等等，是全方位文學、文化藝術家。先生交遊廣，含同鄉、學界、藝文、政治人物，多為一流學者、藝術家，黨國高層。末有〈生平大事記〉為生平簡要。經作者研究、分析、整理，百年來社會變化、文壇巨星，如在眼前。
