修真之道乃天下第一件大事，亦天下第一件難事。以其至大至難，古人皆謂之天下希有之事。是事也，非深明造化、洞曉陰陽，存 經久不易之志，循序漸進者，不能行之。後世學人，不究此事為何事，未曾學道，即欲成道；未曾學人，即欲作仙。無怪乎修道者如牛毛，成道者如麟角也。予自幼 慕道，未遇正人，不辨是非，乃亂乃萃，幾乎受害。幸逢吾師龕谷老人，略聞香風，始知自己從前之錯，亦知天下道人大半皆錯。因述吾師之意，提其修真綱領，總 為九條，名曰修真九要。其法由淺及深，自卑登高，為初學之人作個梯級。不論學道修道，依此九要，循序而入，終必深造自得，且能識的盲師明師，辨得邪道正 道。縱不能行此天下希有之事，亦可以知有此天下希有之事，庶不至空過歲月，虛度一生矣。
