讀書札記，十卷。求，責求；闕，過失。曾國藩嚴於責己，故名其室為「求闕齋」。雖戎馬一生，但不廢讀書，此為歷年讀書札記，多有精闢獨到見解。
《求闕齋讀書錄》為曾國藩讀經史子集的讀書筆記。該書以經、史、子、集分類，每條先列原文，其下為札記，或考證，或感言。光緒時由曾氏弟子王定安分門別類彙集成編。
《求闕齋讀書錄》以對經典的考據訓詁為主，創獲頗多，由之可見曾國藩深厚的考據學造詣。
