5G基建/資料中心催生需求 光通訊高速網路建置熱潮湧現
行動通訊融入每個人生活，隨時上網觀看影音、打卡與聊天已成為生活常態，這樣的生活習慣無形中墊高了高速網路的需求，加上COVID-19疫情帶動下，遠距辦公、上課應用需求勁揚，使得電信業者積極加速5G基礎建置速度，同時雲端業者也馬不停蹄的進行資料中心升級、擴建，進一步帶動光通訊朝更高速網路的建置邁進。
2025年光收發器市場翻倍成長
根據市調研究機構Yole(Yole Développement)指出，2019年光收發器產生的營收高達77億美元，預期2019~2025年期間年複合成長率(CAGR)將成長15%，截至2025年營收將直奔約177億美元，實現翻倍成長的局面。
Yole技術與市場分析師Martin Vallo表示，光收發器成長來自於雲端大廠大量採用價格昂貴的大資料傳輸模組，如400G和800G模組，以及這些廠商加碼投入興建資料中心。與此同時，電信商也提升了對使用無線光收發器的5G網路的投資，將這些模組應用於核心/骨幹網路到機架間連接的各個環節。
