1937年日本侵略軍佔領上海，中國共產黨留滬的部分戲劇人時人稱為「孤島」的法租界和公共租界繼續開展抗戰戲劇運動，史稱孤島戲劇運動，主要由于伶負責。當年年底，于伶和阿英、李伯龍等，組織成立了青鳥劇社，揭開了孤島劇運的序幕。1938年7月，于伶等又以中法聯誼會名義在法租界另組上海劇藝社。它的成立標誌著孤島戲劇運動進入了新的階段。上海劇藝社是孤島劇運的骨幹力量，它的演出稱大劇場活動，從1938年秋至1941年底，除演出反映現實生活的《夜上海》、《花濺淚》等劇目外，還演出了幾十出寓有抗敵意義的外國劇和歷史劇，激勵「孤島」人民在艱難的條件下保持民族氣節。保持民族氣節。太平洋戰爭爆發，日軍佔領租借…… 洪謨、胡導、喬奇、黃宗江、黃宗英、白穆、林彬、吳崇文、王祺、韋偉、顧也魯、舒適、鳳凰、狄梵等十四位話劇人回憶在上海淪陷區話劇舞台的日子。【秀威資訊科技股份有限公司製作】
