王建生，台灣屏東人，民國七十一年二月起為東海大學中文系教授。曾任中文系主任、研究所所長。文建會列名作家。財團法人高等教育評鑑中心規劃委員、評鑑委員。考試院典試委員。書畫學會顧問、理事。著作曾獲文復會、國科會、台灣省新聞處多種獎項。亦為金玉等古文物業餘收藏家。民國一０一年起為東海中文所博士班兼任教授。學術著作、文藝創作及收藏文物三十餘種，論文六十餘篇，國內外書畫聯展三十餘次，主編學術性及文藝性期刊多種，參見本書末《作者著作目錄》。
