姚開陽　本書的文字作者與插畫家

姚開陽先生家學淵源，祖輩在長江經營輪船公司，親友與許多中國近代海軍歷史關鍵人物都有直接的關係。姚開陽先生本身研究中國海軍艦艇超過五十年，曾赴英美法日各國蒐集資料來源，建立了全球最大的中國船艦照片資料庫，同時在軍事雜誌撰寫中國軍艦史專欄多年，並經常在國內外的學術研討會上發表論文及演說，在這個領域是海峽兩岸三地的重量級人物。
