感於台灣應以新視野提昇國際法研究，使台灣地位及國際法相關議題之研討更為蓬勃發展，因此多位國際法專業人士於2001年9月16日正式籌設台灣國際法學會，期能透過學會的成立共同研究國際法問題，促進台灣國際法研究之永續發展，提昇國際法學術研究水準。
學會現任理事長為顏慶章教授；常務理事為陳榮傑教授、邱晃泉律師、吳東昇博士以及廖福特教授，秘書長由洪思竹教授擔任，副秘書長由李明峻教授、王思為教授、林廷輝教授以及雷珍納女士擔任。
