新營紙廠後面有一條河，河水有時淺淺的、有時漲得很高，過河是一大片黃沙，栽種西瓜、芝麻、花生、甘蔗。我六歲時離開那裡，到了有很多鳳凰花樹的屏東，而後在十五歲時搬家到台北西門町，記得第一次坐三輪車就被騙了錢。

二十歲之後，移民到紐約生活至今，經歷過沒有冷暖氣、冰箱、抽水馬桶的歲月，一路穿越到現在擁有太陽能和電動車的日子。然而，前天在紐約的地下車裡，親眼見一名年輕男子揮拳毆打一位年老的東方婦女，一個約六十歲的白人男子挺身出來對抗那名暴徒。我震驚、感動，許久無法平息。

所有這些經歷造成的我，寫下了這些故事，記錄在病苦與仇怨中，仍然熠熠生輝的善美人性。

紐約市立大學藝術系學士。

作品：長篇小說《無法超越的浪漫〉（皇冠）、《上帝是我們的主宰〉（皇冠）、《蝴蝶自由飛〉（皇冠）、《背叛婚姻之後》（九歌）等。長篇小說曾獲第一屆中國時報百萬小說佳作獎和皇冠雜誌百萬小說佳作獎。
