回顧澳門文化遺產保護的百年發展歷程，可讓我們重新審視文化遺產保護體系的形成、範圍的構建、管理的變化，以及政策處理的模式。藉思考由公共工程走向文化保護，由國有紀念物走到文化遺產，由精英管理到公眾參與，解釋社會如何面對保護問題，最後指出澳門如何把握文化遺產保護帶來的機遇，以符合澳門的發展定位。
