«Вечер у Сухомяткина» — произведение русского прозика и драматурга, одного из самых известных в мире русских писателей и мыслителей Макси́ма Го́рького (настоящее имя — Алексе́й Макси́мович Пешко́в, 1868–1936).*** Рассказ написан в 1916 году и тогда же впервые напечатан в газете «Киевская мысль». Основная черта творчества автора — реалистическое повествование. Сюда относятся и крупные произведения, и рассказы. Прозаик был самым издаваемым в СССР писателем. Уступал лишь Л.Толстому и А.Пушкину. Перу Горького принадлежат и такие произведения: «Вода и ее значение в жизни человека», «Враги», «Встреча», «Встряска», «Герой».
