«Красота» — произведение русского прозаика и драматурга, одного из самых известных в мире русских писателей и мыслителей Макси́ма Го́рького (настоящее имя — Алексе́й Макси́мович Пешко́в, 1868–1936).*** Рассказ впервые напечатан в газете «Нижегородский листок» в 1896 году в разделе «Фельетон». Как следует из упомянутых в тексте топографических названий, действие происходит в Тифлисе. В собрания сочинений автором он не включался. Перу Горького принадлежат и такие произведения: «Легкий человек», «Ледоход», «Лето», «Ма-аленькая!», «Макар Чудра».
